My body is mine

I saw a video that disturbed my soul but honestly doesn’t surprise me it was of a woman being surrounded by a group of men while just trying to pay for her gas at a station. Some people have stated that the video was set up and fake.

However even if it is fake, isn’t it a accurate  and deeply disturbing depiction of what happens to women often times on the daily. Struggling to say anything to get these men to leave us alone, another thing is the fact she started smiling and laughing.

Men think that we aren’t uncomfortable because we smile, when in reality we are in flight and fight mode we smile to disarm, we smile to protect ourselves. We think inwardly maybe if I smile and laugh and pretend I’m good with what he or they are doing then maybe he will leave me alone.

The language used within the video was highly disrespectful, she was called a bitch and a hoe multiple times throughout the video by whoever was filming and I honestly wanted to punch him in the throat. First of all she is neither a bitch or a hoe and secondly this is what we women mean she we say we don’t feel protected by these men. The language is deplorable and disrespectful they know exactly what they were doing and I’m not here for it one bit.

Men need to understand that our minds, bodies and our spirit are ours if we chose to share it with you, you should be grateful key word in this sentence is ‘CHOSE’!! However a lot of you are borderline stalkers and have this deep sense of entitlement, we women don’t owe you anything and certainly not our time.

If we tell you we aren’t interested learn to pick up on ques our body language the way we try to get around you when you block us in. How we step back from you when you come forward into our personal space. How we maybe standing directly in front of you but our hips are turned in case we need to get away fast.

Please leave us alone, it’s interesting though that I never have these problems in the Caribbean they know boundaries I can go to Barbados a man will say hello but knows not to touch me or make me feel uncomfortable. However I can’t say the same for British or American men three different societies and cultures and two are the same when it comes to the entitlement of women’s bodies, energy and space!!

Get the message rassholes and galang…..
